Transition years made a most enjoyable and educational journey to Co. Clare recently to visit St. Tola’s Goats cheese farm and the Cliff of Moher Experience educational centre. Students were expertly guided through the whole history and process of cheese production at St. Tola’s farm in Ennistymon. They witnessed the feeding and milking of the goats and the artesian cheese making system, followed by some cheese tasting to finish off.
We then journeyed further West to the Cliffs of Moher, to explore the geology and ecology of one of Ireland most visited sites. Pat, our guide gave a most informative hour long walk and talk. The weather and views were spectacular, perfect selfie-taking conditions which were certainly availed of!
First Year Hurling 2021 – Our 1st year boys are training hard every Wednesday, with over 30 players on the panel. They put in a great performance in their first outing, beating Castletroy College in Monaleen GAA grounds on October 8th. They will take on Scoil Pól, Kilfinnane next – no date confirmed as of yet. The group are also preparing for a Limerick county blitz that will take place in Rathkeale at the end of November. The Rice Cup is an U14 competition and is usually held in March. This will allow the lads to test themselves against schools from all over Munster!
