Farewell to Ms Casey

Our Principal Ms Eilis Casey retired after 13 very successful years in Doon on Wed 21st Dec
2022, 9 of which were served as Principal in Scoil na Tríonóide Naofa.
Ms Casey will be a huge loss to our school community. She has overseen a period of ‘huge
change and challenge in our school’. She realised a dream of former Principals by effectively
overseeing a building project and successfully amalgamating 3 schools in delivering a
school, a centre of education that has quickly become the envy of towns county wide. She
was known for her care, compassion, and passion for teaching and learning. She has been
nothing short of a colossus for the profession. She has been a women of great integrity who
has left a tremendous legacy after her.
Today we salute you, you are the primary reason that ordinary students down through the
years have dreamed to do extraordinary things. For nearly a thousand students who have
graduated from STN over the past 9.5 years these were the Values that Ms Casey upheld
closely throughout her distinguished career.
Looking to the future we have no doubt that today represents not a retirement from the
profession but simply a change of direction and the sharing of your invaluable skill set with
others fortunate enough to have the experience that we had. We as a school community hope
you will continue to have many happy, healthy and fun filled days ahead as you enjoy your
new journey.
We simply say thank you Ms Casey for your hard work and loyalty to a profession you have
dedicated over 3 decades of your life to. We in Scoil na Trionoide Naofa were fortunate and
lucky enough to share in that journey with you. We have no doubt that you will light up the
stage in your future performances wherever that may take you!
